Mark Malagon, PE
CEO & Owner
Mark has over 21 years of experience in industrial refrigeration and mechanical contracting. He started his career as a project manager before advancing into sales engineering. Mark later worked as the Director of Sales and Engineering for a national contracting company. He then made the tough decision to leave the industrial refrigeration industry for a general management position in HVAC but was eventually drawn back to his roots in refrigeration.
Mark gained real world experience in business and finance during his time as a GM which he used to found Nexus Refrigeration in 2018. He has been running Nexus ever since. In 2022, Mark also founded Fusion Refrigeration, an associate company to Nexus, to perform design and engineering work in specific states with varying regulations. Mark is an accomplished leader with a strong record in engineering, management, sales, and operations.
Throughout his career, Mark has been responsible for over $250 million worth of work from prominent industrial clients such as Hanover Foods, GSCS, Americold Logistics, Tropicana, Lineage, Con Agra, Smithfield Foods, Pepsi, Purdue, Pilgrim’s Pride, Nestle, and Cuisine Solutions. Mark is a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in multiple states and holds an active NCEES Record. He earned a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Georgia Tech and an MBA from Mercer University.
